Pikaia Lodge sits on the edge of an extinct volcanic crater, 450 meters above sea level in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island, the geographic heart of the Galápagos archipelago. From here, the lodge looks out over a rare mix of landscapes: arid lowland savanna in one direction, misty tropical highland forest in the other, and the Pacific Ocean on the horizon.
The setting is part of what makes Pikaia Lodge different from most Galápagos stays. Rather than being based aboard a ship or in the port town of Puerto Ayora, the lodge occupies 31 private hectares in the highlands, including its own giant tortoise reserve.
Curious about the islands themselves: the wildlife, the marine reserve, what makes the Galápagos so extraordinary? That's a story worth telling properly, and we've given it its own space.
